Doug's latest project "The Shawl" is a collection of nine songs with lyrics lifted from the Psalms. While it's not an official follow-up to the critically acclaimed "On Promenade", it is a real treat for the ears and for the soul.
The indie-folk sound of Doug Burr perfectly complements the honesty and transparency of the Psalms and makes for a truly unique listening experience. I was one of the first to review "On Promenade" last year and I'm proud to say I predicted it's success. Doug was kind enough to slip me an advance copy of The Shawl so I'd like to give it some props. It's more mellow, more acoustic, and brimming with emotion.
